New Year Message from your Co-Presidents
Entering 2015, we leave behind a year of many landmarks – the European spacecraft landing on a comet, the breakthrough in U.S./Cuba relations, the World Cup in Brazil, and on a more solemn note, the centenary of the beginning of World War I – each of these reminding us of the power of unity and the determination of the human spirit. Though we start a new year
leaving the bad and sad moments behind, we should not forget the importance of this.

Returning to ASH following a much-needed break, we have a busy road ahead with many challenges and hopeful triumphs. By working together and supporting one another, we can make the remainder of this school year a memorable and meaningful success for all.

As a Senate, we look forward to continuing to work with all of you and have several plans for the coming semester.

First, we would like to keep you more up-to-date on the happenings at school through a new, weekly Senate News, and continue to host open meetings to enable direct student input. Following the positive response, we would like to continue interactive assemblies with live-performances and videos to showcase your talent. Whilst increasing connectivity within the school,
we are also seeking to reach out and further our ties in the community.

In parallel with our Winter Ball planning, and also through to the end of school, the Senate will be working on proposals based on your input. We want to continue to hear your ideas, and this is an excellent opportunity to share them with your elected representatives.

We had a fantastic first semester with the high school coming together, particularly during Spirit Week. It is important to remember that our seniors will now be with us for only a few short months. We need to ensure we make the most of our time together, carrying on the spirit and celebrating successes.

As each of us progresses through the year, we will face our own challenges and things may not always go our way. We will have good days and bad days, but drawing on the ideas of togetherness and determination, anything is possible.

We wish you all the best in this new year.

Best Regards,

Kelly and Ravi
Co-Presidents
