Turning Ideas into Action, Locally and Globally
Students embrace community service to make a positive impact locally and globally.
Through personal interest, class projects, clubs, or the IB Diploma Programme’s Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) component, they lead initiatives such as the Sustainability Club or Amnesty International; organize fundraisers for Doctors Without Borders or the World Wide Fund for Nature; volunteer at retirement homes or homeless shelters; and assist younger athletics teams. High School students can also join the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Academies—a year-long program partnering with communities in Nepal and Thailand to take action on a specific UN SDG. ASH students are empowered to turn ideas into action, addressing real community needs—both in Wassenaar and beyond—while growing as problem-solvers, leaders, and engaged global citizens.
