American School of The Hague (ASH) opened its doors for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 22nd. Under a bright blue sky, ASH Director Courtney Lowe and staff welcomed new and returning families as students were busy greeting each other, catching up with old friends, and welcoming new faces. This happy buzz made the first day of school that much more exciting in anticipation of a productive school year ahead.
Families new to ASH this year attended our signature Safe Harbour family orientation program last week aiming to help families ease into their new school community through campus explorations, meetings with teachers, and Barbeque and ice cream socials. In total, we welcomed 248 new students and their families into our community for the start of this new school year.
On this first day of school, ASH students also arrived to find improved facilities, such as a brand new Sport Hall offering 2,814 square meters of space for sports, and new bleachers offering additional seating. This beautiful first day back to school successfully launched the ASH community into a brand new school year.
