Festival Classique, Thursday, June 15th to Sunday, June 25th, Scheveningen: Top musicians and up-and-coming talent play scores of concerts at beautiful locations in Scheveningen. The heart of the festival site is the Kurhaus, the Pier and the boulevard in between. The 10th edition of Festival Classique promises to be a festival for both young and old during which everybody can enjoy classical music at unique locations. Zumba Kids Summer Camp, Monday, June 19th until Friday, June 23rd, ABF Room 2: Put on your dancing shoes and join our Zumba Kids Summer Camp - 5 mornings of 45-minute sessions. Roots Festival, Monday, June 19th tot Sunday, June 25th, Amsterdam: The Amsterdam Roots Festival is set to return to the city in the summer. This annual celebration of world and roots music always brings a wide variety of international stars to Amsterdam, traditionally closing with Roots Open Air outdoor party. Whether you know all the music or not, Roots Open Air is a special event. It’s an opportunity to not only share in the music of many cultures, but also experience those cultures first hand. Despicable Me 3, Saturday, June 24th, Sunday, June 25th or Sunday, July 1st, Wassenaar: Despicable Me 3 is coming soon to Wassenaar Library. Come and watch this classic family film with ‘Gru' and ‘Dru’ at your friendly local library. There is limited availability for the original English version so be sure to book via this website for showings on Saturday, June 24th, Sunday, June 25th or Sunday, July 1st. You can also try and spot the Minions who are hiding around the library to win free film tickets. For more information contact ptocommunity@ash.nl.

Parkpop, Saturday, June 25th, The Hague: Parkpop is more than just pop music: it's about the atmosphere in the park, about bringing people together. The program contains great national and international acts. Parkpop is one of the largest free pop music festivals in Europe and is suitable for true festival lovers, but also for the newbies who want an introduction to the festival world. 4th of July Picnic, Sunday, July 2nd, 14:00 - 18:00, ABF Sport Fields, Wassenaar: Come celebrate America’s Birthday and join in the fun. All are welcome on Sunday, July 2nd for American BBQ, kids games, music, consular services and great fun. There will be real tasty food and cold drinks for sale. Or bring your own picnic with a blanket or lawn chairs. Most of all bring the kids, your friends, neighbors - everyone is welcome.

Science Camps, July and August, Delft: You can be part of real science and research at the Delft University of Technology since they are organizing Science Camps for 10 - 15 year-olds during Summer. Guided by professionals you will be designing, building and testing your own longboard/skimboard in one week. You will learn different techniques and methodology which will allow you to grow into a real designer and engineer. Also you get a peak backstage at the TU Delft and see the labs where researchers are working hard on inventing the latest technologies. There are 3 weeks of Science Camps:
  • Week 1: July 1st to July 14th, longboard
  • Week 2: July 17th to July 21st, skimboard
  • Week 3: August 14th to August 18th, longboard

Artsy Summer Camp at ASH, August 7th - August 11th, 10:00 - 12:30, ABF Building Room 3: Join local artist Maryolga Nieto, who has been teaching the Arsty Club at ASH for the past 16 years, for a fun art camp held at ASH just before school begins in August 2017. The camp is open for students ages 4 through 14. Children will have fun while learning about art and will work with materials such as paper, canvas, ceramics, textile and T-shirts. They also learn to paint with abstract, watercolors, cartoons drawing, illustrations, sketching with ink, Manga, mask making, oils, and many more art techniques. Each activity is carefully tailored towards the appropriate age level. Registration is now open by emailing brochadearte@gmail.com or by calling 062.544.1356. The camp costs 165 Euros per student (5 days a week, course 2 hrs and a half per day). Walk-ins are welcome for a fee of 35 Euros. All materials included are included in the price of the camp. 

Save the Date: Back to School Charity Party, Friday, September 15th, 20:00: Mark your calendars now for this second Back To School charity party, organized by ASH Parents. There will be dinner, dancing and lots of good fun. All proceeds going to projects supported by together for charity www.togetherforcharity.se. Located at Beachclub de Golfslag, Wassenaar.     The final edition of this school year. I can not believe another school year has gone by. Many High School students, from all around the world, are leaving their schools to continue their lives away from the so well protected environment our High School. We wish them all great experiences, wherever they might be.
