It’s the start of a brand new school year here at ASH and this first week has been a flurry of activity; from welcoming our new community members and helping them settle in, to first week traditions like ice cream socials and Color House Day, to launching Troy the Trojan’s very own Instagram account - it’s all part of the #ASHexperience!
First day of school - Wednesday, August 21st
Before the clock struck 08:00 last Wednesday morning, students began streaming in the gates. Some excitedly reuniting with friends after time spent apart on their various summer vacations, while others were just embarking on not only their first day of school for the year but their first day at ASH. The hallways were soon filled with the hum of over 1200 students and 200 teachers back in the classroom, reminiscing on holiday stories and looking forward to a year of learning ahead. Of course, everyone was introduced to Chester, our splendid green couch which will be making regular appearances at school events and is forming a significant role in our #ASHexperience campaign. So keep an eye out for Chester and ways you can contribute to the campaign!
Your digital #ASHexperience Even before the first day of school, our digital experience team was busy introducing our new families and staff members to the ins and outs of our school portal, called InsideASH. It is a great source of information and chances are if you have a question or query about ASH, you’ll find the answer on the ASH portal. If you do have any issues with your InsideASH account please contact email@example.com or view our video for further guidance.
Color House Day - Friday, August 23rd On Friday afternoon, both the school and ABF fields turned red, blue and yellow with a sea of middle schoolers and their teachers participating in the first Color House Day of the year. Color House is such an important part of the #ASHexperience in middle school and a tradition that students look forward to every year. Competing in fun activities throughout the afternoon, this event really encourages student leadership and community spirit and is a great way for our students from different grade levels to get to know each other and build friendships.
@ashathletics - Troy the Trojan’s on Instagram! That’s right, Troy the Trojan has made his Instagram debut, he just couldn’t resist sharing the Athletics perspective of the #ASHexperience. He’ll be posting updates on our teams, highlights from their games and their adventures traveling to compete across Europe. So head on over and follow @ashathletics - shout out to our first follower Ms. Harman from Middle School PE!
What an action-packed first week. Bring on the rest of the school year!
