Winding Up to the Class of 2019 Commencement Ceremonies

In the past few days, our pending graduates have taken center stage as they participate in many events and rites of passage that lead up to this year’s commencement ceremonies taking place on Friday, June 7th.

The Senior Dinner, an ASH tradition, gave the Class of 2019 a chance to come together and celebrate at school, for an early evening dinner amongst their friends, classmates, parents, and staff. This social setting is the perfect way to present more “informal” awards (think along the lines of best dressed, etc.), one of which highlights students who attended ASH from the early years of Transition Kindergarten, Kindergarten or Grade 1 - the Endurance Award. This year there were 8 students who received this recognition; Vincent, Nicolo, Charlotte, Moira, Felipe, Kevin, Chiara, and Loreta. Seniors also took home a parting gift of a trademark Delft Blue mug, as well as remarks and comments from classmates and teachers.

Moving through the week we saw the Seniors come together with the Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen in the presentation of the annual Academic Awards Ceremony, where they celebrate and recognize each other’s academic achievements. The stage for the awards ceremony was set up days in advance, for the graduation ceremony itself, with the usually bustling athletics venue transformed into a grand and impressive event location. The Seniors participate in many graduation rehearsals to help them prepare for the main event.

Tomorrow morning, our Seniors will help launch a new ASH Tradition - the Senior Walk. A procession led by a marching band and our official ASH Mascot Troy the Trojan will lead the Seniors on a walk around campus lined with the smiling and enthusiastic faces of ASH students of all ages, and staff members from all divisions. Together, our Seniors will walk through the ASH hallways one last time, and end in the Sportshall for their final graduation rehearsal.

We welcome everyone to celebrate our Seniors and enjoy this special moment of graduation, with blue caps and gowns, gold tassels and of course, the energetic Class of 2019 ready to accept their diplomas. To view tomorrow's graduation ceremony live via our website, follow this link or click on the "Graduation Live" link next to the search bar in the top right corner of the ASH homepage: Live streaming via this channel will start at 17:00 CET on Friday, June 7, 2019.

Congratulations to the Class of 2019, and good luck tomorrow night!
