Middle School Students’ Stories Published in an Anthology
A catastrophe so epic that it has almost eliminated the entire human race. There are just a few survivors... will they rebuild civilization or succumb to Mother Nature, just like all the others? In November 2018, Middle School students were challenged to write, in 100 words or less, how the world ended or introduce their post-apocalyptic vision.
As part of Middle School enrichment opportunities, this challenge to write a mini-saga was introduced via the Friday Color House News and open to all students age 11+. Winners would be published in an anthology. The 'Mission Catastrophe' international mini-saga writing competition received more than 24,000 entries from around the world. Three ASH MS students (Adèle, Marie, and Zeina) came out as winners in this contest and will be published this June!
In addition, Marie's entry for another competition, 'Pet Poetry- Crazy Creatures' was also selected for publication in a separate anthology! These anthologies are available for purchase, and the school copy will be viewable in the MS Enrichment room.
