Congratulations to the Class of 2018! American School of The Hague students have once again achieved excellent results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) and Advanced Placement Program (AP), the two hallmarks of our academic program in the High School.
Last May, our graduating class completed a combined total of 633 IB DP and AP exams and posted outstanding scores overall, with an average score of 34 in IB DP and 3.74 in AP, as compared to world wide averages of 30 and 2.86 respectively.
Known for its academic rigor and range, the IB Diploma has been on offer at ASH since 1995. This year, 47 of 53 candidates successfully earned the full IB Diploma averaging a respectable 34 points overall with the highest score attained at 43 points (out of 45 possible). Of the 391 IB subject exams taken by students in the Class of 2018, 92% earned passing scores of 4 or higher.
The Advanced Placement Program from the College Board offers university level curriculum and examinations to High School students and has been on offer at ASH for more than 40 years. In 2018, 92 ASH students took a total of 242 AP exams. 86% of our students passed the exams with a score of 3 (Qualified) or higher compared to the world average of 58%.
These outstanding scores are a testament to our student commitment and faculty dedication across all subject areas within the IB DP and AP programs at ASH.
