Bernie's Corner

Welcome to Bernie's Corner!

Are you looking for a fun idea for the weekend, whether it be a trip, an event, or a special activity? Then look no further. Our resident expert, Bernie Eek, shares her Weekend Tips with you to ensure you and your family always have something fun to do!

Bernie has a rich history at ASH – not only as our former IB/AP Administrative Assistant, but also as the parent of student alumni Stephanie and Michelle Yarnell and as the wife of current High School Music Teacher Jim Yarnell. Prior to her life at ASH, she had 20+ years of experience in tourism; she worked as a local guide and event organizer in The Netherlands and as a European tour manager (which is actually how she met her husband Jim!).

She can strongly relate to our ASH lifestyle and community – to what makes our community unique and what our international families need to feel “at home away from home.” Feel free to reach out to her for questions or ideas: beekyarnell@gmail.com

Each week you can enjoy her insider perspective to life in the Netherlands to help you feel at home.
