MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT WELLBEING
Student well-being is a cornerstone of success and happiness, and in our middle school we care about our students’ growth as learners and as individuals. We take the wellbeing of our students to heart and promote the emotional, social and academic growth of all learners.
Our counseling team facilitates and guides our student wellness programs, ensuring that everyone learns in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment. The team is an important support to our learners and strives to ensure their safety and comfort while at school.
Our counselors support our students and their families during milestone events, be it upon joining or leaving ASH. At the start of a new family’s ASH journey, our counselors partner and student ambassadors provide guidance and useful resources about the elementary school, and support each student’s needs to ensure their social, emotional and academic success at ASH.
Parent-Teacher conferences, student-led conferences, and Parent Coffees take place throughout the year to ensure that parents are part of their child’s learning journey at ASH. Regular updates and photos are safely shared through the Parent Portal and digital learning platforms.
Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
The PTO is a volunteer organization that unites the school and our families in support of the success and well-being of the student. The PTO hosts many activities in the ASH community.
Childcare at ASH
Daycare at ASH is located in the Early Childhood Center campus (ECC) and provided by an external but in-house provider, for children ages 0-3 years old. We also offer after school childcare for ASH students ages 3 - 14. Our service is available every day after school dismissal time until 6.30pm
The school nurse is the health care professional who handles immediate illness as well as makes injury assessments and interventions after referral from the teacher. The nurse counsels individuals about health and mental health issues - offering assessments, suggesting intervention and providing referrals to appropriate school staff or community agencies.
