The Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID)

In addition to the flexibility of choosing any number of AP subjects in high school, the Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID) is a globally recognized certificate award for students with an international outlook. The APID challenges a student to display high achievement on AP exams across at least three disciplines.

The APID is an award available to students attending secondary schools outside the United States. The APID is not a substitute for a High School diploma, but rather provides additional certification of outstanding academic excellence.

The Advanced Placement International Diploma consists of five courses:

  • Two different languages (English and World Languages)
  • One AP course with a global perspective (e.g. Human Geography)
  • One math or science course
  • One other course from any content area except English or World Languages

*Special accommodations are available for students with special needs.
