ASH is celebrating its 70th Anniversary, ASH70!
ASH is celebrating its 70th Anniversary, ASH70! Throughout the 2023-2024 school year there will be opportunities for students, staff, parents and alumni to participate in activities and events dedicated to the celebration of this milestone.
On our 70th anniversary, we are reflecting on the stories of yesterday, and discovering their impact on today. With excitement for the future, we are counting on imagination and creativity to dream on the surprises of tomorrow.
Back to School bASH
Our community got its first taste of the ASH70 at the Back to School bASH on Saturday, August 19. Parents, staff and students could pick up their ASH70 commemorative pin at the Engagement table and get their photo taken with the ASH70 prop. Everyone was enthusiastic for a chance to collect all of the commemorative pin designs at more ASH events happening throughout the year. Community members were also encouraged to share what they love about ASH on the back of their pin card, and drop it into the collection box. Even limited edition swag has been designed to help celebrate and recognize this milestone year.
Memories from the school's rich history were brought to life with a sampling of yearbooks on display. Passerby could browse through the pages of elementary, middle and high school yearbooks spanning all of the decades. Some High School students even found photos of their younger selves as Elementary School or Middle School students, and marveled at the school portraits of high schoolers from the 1960’s. It was a touching moment to see a former student, now a current ASH parent, recall her time at ASH when it was located in The Hague and the daily “scramble” to get her bus.
Celebrate Your ASH70
Looking back at 70 years, ASH is a vibrant kaleidoscope of stories. One by one, the people from our community have contributed in marvelous ways to make the world a better place. If it weren't for each individual story, we would not be where we are today.
