Preparing for Any Situation with Virtual Learning

Here at ASH, we understand that the current novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation that many countries around the world are facing, will be top of mind for many in our community. We have been sending regular updates and communications to our families and staff to ensure that everyone in our community has the most up-to-date information and our school administrators are in regular contact with health authorities here in the Netherlands.

At this stage, we have no reason to believe that a school closure is required or imminent, however we are making sure that our teaching staff and students are as prepared as possible to activate our ASH virtual learning plan. This means being ready to work virtually from home. When you talk with your child, you will most likely hear the letters: VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) and PSL (PowerSchool Learning) which will be our main vehicle for teaching and learning.

Over the coming days, our teachers and students will be participating in ‘virtual learning experience’ simulations. We are doing this to ensure that all of our students and all of our teachers will know what to do in the case that we need to activate the virtual learning plan. These simulations are also an opportunity to see if we need to make any changes to how we will do this.

We will continue to provide communications on this evolving situation and all updates and information can be found on our dedicated COVID-19 page on our website.
