Laura - Balancing Academic and Personal Progress

Meet Laura, ASH student since 2019

“I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the faculty and staff; they have made my experience and the experiences of many others at ASH wonderful and truly unforgettable. The faculty and staff are all such caring and knowledgeable experts who care about each and every one of us as both people and students.”

What does the #ASHexperience mean to you?
Overall, I think the strong sense of community at ASH is something truly incredible. Being able to sense the caring atmosphere and have a sense of belonging is something that I will never forget. I think the teachers and staff at ASH have been extremely helpful in helping me apply the learned knowledge to different scenarios, and in developing critical thinking skills. In addition to academics, I think that they have taught me countless life lessons. The student ambassadors program at ASH has also been invaluable and remarkable. The program made my adjustment to living in a new country and finding new friends very easy and smooth.

What do you think about #LearningThatMatters?
I think the ASH mission, vision, and core values do influence how I learn about life, although sometimes I do not consciously realize it. I think they are gentle reminders to keep life in perspective, and to not get carried away from the most important goal with projects, tests, and assignments: learning. Throughout my time at ASH, I think that I have grown a lot as a person; I have a better understanding of myself and the world around me than I did before. I have also progressed academically, being able to apply my learned knowledge more effectively than I could before.

#ASHvoices
We have a diverse community of students, staff, and families from around the world. Each member of our community brings their own background and story that enrich the ASH experience.
