In Memoriam: Tom Harrington, former ASH Staff
It is with deep regret that we share the passing of ASH Staff Alumni Tom Harrington, who passed away peacefully on August 30, 2020. Tom was a dear colleague, friend and teacher to so many individuals during his 29 year career at ASH, spanning the years of 1984 - 2013.
Tom held various roles and positions both in the classroom and beyond, making his face a friendly, familiar sight to many. From social studies teacher to middle school library assistant; math teacher, coach, team leader and project leader; Tom was a part of the ASH community, in the middle school life particularly, in countless ways. Even after his retirement, he continued to come back and substitute at ASH on a regular basis; his knowledge of a plethora of subjects made him someone that we could always count on to help out in the classroom.
A private gathering was held to honor his memory on September 2; with plans in the works to honor his life in a broader capacity with loved ones both in the US and in the NL. His legacy will live on through our memories and stories of Tom’s friendly smile, charismatic charm and warm heart that touched all who knew him.
