On Friday: "Happy Valentine's Day" to all of you. Each year the Dutch seem to enjoy celebrating Valentine's Day a little more by exchanging flowers and chocolate. Although you'll rarely see a Dutch house without fresh cut flowers, just wait a few more weeks when you can buy 50 tulips for only a few Euros. Spring is just around the corner. Actually, has it been winter... And if you wish to surprise your valentine, check out the following site: Spoordeelwinkel Valentine.
We all know about Delft Blue but, do you also know the Delft Blues Festival? It is Holland’s biggest indoor blues event. More than 50 Dutch and foreign bands perform at dozens of cafés and restaurants throughout the city. It is a wonderful music festival against the backdrop of the beautiful city centre of Delft from Friday, February 14 - Sunday, February 16 this year. With the event so close by, please enjoy the music in this great city.
This weekend the annual Scratch Music Festival is taking place in the Pieterskerk in Leiden. A great festival, different performances, all by amateurs who worked hard over the last couple of months with their sheet music and who rehearsed together on the day of the performance to be ready for a wonderful performance in the Pieterskerk. Click on "Toeschouwers" for the dates, type of performance and tickets. Enjoy!
You already know that I am a promoter of public transport. From April 30, 2020 you can travel directly by train from Amsterdam to London. For information and reservation check: NS International.
