Elizabeth - The Multi-Talented Nurse

One of my favorite memories from ASH was going on the Global Impact trip to Nepal in 2020, right before lockdown hit. I was so lucky to have had that experience of helping people and exploring a new culture. The group of us that went together grew really close over the duration of the trip.

I also love to draw and read, so I have really enjoyed the English curriculum, as well as taking art courses as an underclassman. I have also been one of the leaders for the MUN and SustainASH clubs, and I hope to participate in similar clubs in university.

I am excited to go back to my home country for university, but I will miss being at ASH and being able to interact with so many people from all over the world. You can learn a lot by talking to people with different backgrounds, views, and life experiences than yours.

I am going back to the United States to get my bachelor's degree, and have gotten offers from the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, and Case Western Reserve University, although I haven't decided where I am going yet.

Next year at university I am going to major in Nursing, and I am really excited because as a nurse, I will have the opportunity to help and make a difference in so many people’s lives. I view Nursing as an intersection of many disciplines because the practice combines STEM topics that I am interested in, like biology, chemistry, and psychology, with the humanities, since you have to be knowledgeable about public health issues, which includes things like climate change and inequality.
