What began as an Eagle Scout service project has become a lasting contribution to one of our school's most cherished traditions. Recognizing that the storage space for the International Festival was in need of a little re-structuring, Grade 8 student Daniel took the initiative to transform it into a well-organized system.

 

As part of the requirements for earning the Eagle Scout rank, students must lead a project that benefits their community. Over three work sessions, the student organized a team of fellow Scouts to sort materials, label more than 30 storage boxes, and create a detailed catalog showing exactly what each box contains. The project also helped clear out years of accumulated materials like flags, signs, props, banners, and much more - creating a cleaner and more functional storage space.

 

The impact of this effort will be felt for years to come. The International Festival is one of the school's most beloved annual traditions, celebrating the diversity and cultures of our community. Thanks to this new organizational system, organizers will be able to prepare for it much more efficiently, making the setup and planning a much easier and enjoyable process for everyone involved.

 

This project is also a wonderful example of the many ways our students look for opportunities to serve others. Through leadership, teamwork, and initiative, they continue to strengthen and support our school community. Thank you, Daniel!
