When Abinayaa arrived at ASH as a new student in junior year, Eivinta was one of the student ambassadors welcoming her. They quickly connected over basketball, shared Biology and Chemistry classes, and a similar outlook on life. "We had similar humour, and a similar attitude towards friendships and life," they recall. As they graduate, the friends are heading in different directions but remain united by the experiences that they went through together at ASH.

 

Abinayaa will study Business Administration at IE University in Madrid. Eivinta will attend Texas Tech University Honors College, studying Biochemistry and Pre-medicine.

 

Their goals reflect the global issues they care about most. Abinayaa hopes to tackle educational inequality: "One problem I feel personally connected to is the lack of access to education for many communities around the world. I believe the future of our world is in the hands of the younger generations, and education is a fundamental tool for creating opportunities and building a better society,” she says. “I want to understand how organizations can create more equal opportunities, whether through awareness initiatives, educational programs, or more inclusive business practices.”

 

Eivinta is passionate about improving healthcare accessibility. "So many people struggle with health issues that affect them physically, emotionally and financially; I hope to contribute through medicine and scientific research.”

 

Both credit ASH with preparing them for what's next. Abinayaa says the school's international environment widened her perspective, while helping her become a more socially aware thinker. Through experiences including leading an art club, participating in The Hague International Model United Nations, basketball, and the IB Visual Arts Exhibition, she developed leadership, communication, and confidence.

 

For Eivinta, who has attended ASH since fourth grade, the school feels more like a home and community. She especially appreciated the challenge of the IB Diploma Programme. "What I loved most about the IB was that it was genuinely difficult," she says. "I liked constantly being challenged because it made the work feel meaningful." Independent research through the Extended Essay and Internal Assessments confirmed her passion for research and critical thinking, while the programme taught her resilience, discipline, and curiosity.

 

One of their favorite memories together came during a trip to Amsterdam to secure visas for university. What could have been a stressful day became a memory they’ll cherish for a long time as they navigated trains and buses, shared lunch, and spent hours talking. Looking back, they say they were able to get through a challenging and exciting stage in our life, while having the most fun possible.

 

Although they are heading to different countries, they hope to remain close, supporting one another through future milestones. Their journeys may be taking them in different directions, but the friendship they built at ASH is one they plan to carry with them wherever life leads.
