Every Learner Known, Valued, and Supported
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Our EAL program supports students in acquiring English while celebrating the diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds they bring to our community. Students in Grades 1–12 receive targeted instruction that develops language proficiency and confidence in all areas of communication. Working in close partnership with families, we ensure a supportive, inclusive approach that helps multilingual learners thrive academically, socially, and as valued members of the ASH community.
Special Education
The Special Education program provides individualized support for students with formally identified disabilities. Led by certified special educators, the program integrates functional academics, life skills, and a modified grade-level curriculum within a nurturing, small-class environment. In partnership with families, we design learning experiences that promote independence, academic growth, and meaningful inclusion with peers, ensuring every student is an active and valued participant in the ASH community.
Counseling
Our schoolwide counseling team provides proactive and responsive support to students and families across all grade levels. As key members of our multidisciplinary Student Support Team, counselors help ensure that every student learns in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment. Their work focuses on well-being, social-emotional growth, and helping students navigate challenges with resilience and confidence.
Learning Support
Our Learning Support program assists students in Grades 1–12 who experience challenges accessing the grade-level curriculum. Using a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), we provide targeted interventions, skill-building opportunities, and collaboration with families and specialists. This strengths-based approach promotes academic growth and confidence through both short- and long-term individualized support.
