ASH students help to spread the news about "Fair Trade" in Wassenaar - March 10th, 2012

3/12/2012
Thank you to four of our High School students who volunteer to assist in the promotion of "EerlijkWinkelen"  or Fair Trade, in Wassenaar on Saturday, March 10th. Giving up their Saturday morning, the students met with Ms. Hedwig Smits, Chair of the foundation for Fair Trade in Wassenaar at the local library where they learned more about Wassenaar's commitment to stimulating Fair Trade from Alderman Fred Sanders. The students then walked the shopping route, hanging up posters and handing out a handy route map showing all of the participating shops. Supporting our local and global communities are essential elements of the philosophy of the School but that said, it is always wonderful to hear such positive feedback about our students:  Ms. Smits comments that "The students were great, particularly  your students were inventive, they  distribute the z- cards and spoke with the public . It was good that there were young people with us. A sign that the youth are concerning too." Take a look at the Fair Trade activities from March 10th.
