Welcome to Sustainability at American School of The Hague
American School of The Hague [ASH] is member of the international organization Eco-Schools. Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed the principles of sustainability into the heart of school life. In May 2014, we received the Green Flag award for all the work we have done to improve the sustainability of the school.
Who We Are
ASH Sustainability
ASH Sustainability is composed of Elementary, Middle and High School students, parents, teachers and management working towards fulfilling the Eco-Schools Pillars, Raising Green Awareness and embedding Sustainability into the Curriculum.

Eco Team Committee Members

Eco-Schools Definition
Eco-Schools is a sustainable development education program for schools operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). For more information you can visit http://eco-schools.nl or www.ecoschools.global.

Eco Pillars
The Eco-Schools program structure incorporpoates 10 main themes, including School Building and Surroundings, Climate Change, Energy, Global Citizenship, Health & Wellbeing, Litter, School Grounds, Transport, Waste, and Water. 

Eco Code
American School of The Hague follows an Eco Code related to the 8 principals of energy, litter, recycling, water, transport, health, bio-diversity, school grounds.
