Weekend Tips!
Extended Weekend Tips, Friday, February 24th - Sunday, March 5th
One of the Dutch most beloved children's book authors, Dick Bruna, past away last week. We all grew up with the books about "Nijntje" or maybe you know her by the name of "Miffy". Both my daughters learned to read with these wonderful short stories. Miffy books sold over 85 million copies translated into more than 50 languages. Miffy explained children in a simple way with 4 rhythmic phrases per page and a Miffy drawing on the other page. Utrecht, where the author was born, even has a Miffy traffic light and the Miffy museum. A most wonderful place to be with young children. Did you know that Dick Bruna came to ASH and visited our Elementary School children? It was many years ago, my youngest daughter was still a second grader and loved his visit.
