*On Wednesday the Library sometimes closes at 3 p.m. for faculty meetings.
Parents are very welcome to stop by, browse the collection, and check out materials during the school day. Because we focus on the needs of students and faculty during school hours and work to create an inviting young adult atmosphere in the High School Library, the Library's reading, computer, and study areas are prioritized for student and teacher use.

Visiting the Library: Students are very welcome to visit the Library during breaks, free blocks, lunch, as well as before and after school.
General check out procedures: ASH students and parents may check out as many items as they need in consultation with a member of the Library staff; there is no fixed check out limit, but we do reserve the right to limit check outs due to chronic overdues or damaged materials. The check out period is for three weeks for most materials, with the exception of certain reference materials, classroom reserve materials, textbooks and DVDs which have a one week check out period. You may renew materials either in person or via email at any time, unless the items have been requested by another library patron.
DVD check out procedures: You may check out DVDs for one week. Please understand that many of our DVDs are exclusively for teachers’ use in the classroom and will not be available for general circulation.
Textbook collection: Library textbooks are primarily used in the Library for homework or test preparation, but students may check them out on a short-term basis to take to a class or to the Cafeteria during a free block or to a tutoring session after school. Students are asked to leave uneccessary belongings (coats, gym bags, purses etc.) in their lockers and only bring items needed to use while studying or reading to the Library.
Multimedia use guidelines: You may listen to music, audiobooks, or other media with headphones as long as you do not disturb others.
Food and drink: If you are having a drink while working in the Library, please tidy up any trash. We invite you to have a snack or meal in the Cafeteria and not in the Library.
Online Subscriptions: Passwords and logins for accessing our digital library subscriptions are available at the circulation desk or by request via email to Ms. T-D or Ms. Adkins. Many teachers post the logins and passwords within their Moodle courses. There is also a list available in the ASH Directory.
