Congratulations to the seniors who have already been accepted to university. There is an updated lists of acceptances for the entire senior class on InsideASH.

We had a great number of participants who attended the College and University Information Night on 20 January in the theater.  I thank all of you who took the time to attend. Please remember, juniors, to make an appointment with Mr. Loy this semester after course selection to discuss your plans. Your parents are welcome and encouraged to join that meeting. It is important to realize that work needed to be done this spring will help make the university search an easier and more enjoyable process. There are several things to do – and it is all do-able – but in order to be successful, it is important to use this spring semester well.

Juniors and Sophomores: SAT Prep Course–March 5, 6, 12, 13

Prior to the SAT sessions this spring, Academic Services International from New York will return for another preparation course for the SAT-CR. The twenty hour course will be given over four days: March 5, 6, 12, 13 (two consecutive weekends) prior to the May and June SAT dates. Cost for the course is US$725. Pay on-line at www.asipayment.com and also give the registration form to Ms. Nguyen in the Counseling Center. Students who have taken the course in the past and would like to review, may take the course at no charge if there is space available; you need only pay for any new materials.

Please note that space is limited for this course and that there are students at other schools who want to attend and who have already registered.

Housing needed:  We are looking for a host family for the teacher from Academic Services International who will be here to teach the SAT Prep Class.  Dates are Thursday 3 to Tuesday, 15 March.  Housing close to school or with access to bus 43 preferred.  The host family will receive either a US $600 honorarium or free enrollment for their child in the SAT prep class.  If interested, please contact Peter Loy in the High School Guidance Center (ploy@ash.nl)

     Registration Deadline for the 11 June ACT is 6 May

Register online at http://www.actstudent.org/ Please be sure to register for the ACT that includes the writing section, which is often requested by universities. 

     Registration Deadline for 7 May SAT is 25 March
     Registration Deadline for 4 June SAT is 29 April

SAT registration forms should be completed on-line at www.collegeboard.com. 

 Do not wait until the deadline to register for these tests, as our test center is often full to capacity.
