What is the ASH Bulletin?
|The ASH Bulletin is compiled by the External Relations Department and is produced 4 times per school year. The ASH Bulletin features articles from the Chair of the Board of Trustees, PTO President, the Director, the three Principals, Counselors, Assistant Principals and other staff members. The ASH Bulletin is distributed electronically to parent's designated email addresses and is available on the ASH website. For submissions or questions, please email email@example.com.|
Typical Bulletin Content:
The ASH Bulletin is a quarterly publication. The purpose of this bulletin is to speak to the ASH community, our current families and those who may be considering ASH as a location for their children’s education as well as the wider community of our client companies, relocation companies, municipalities and other key influencers who may like to know more about life at ASH. The ASH Bulletin is a public document, therefore, visible on our website. We aim to showcase a range of activities, events and learning experiences that have taken place throughout the school over the previous quarter. You will find lots of information regarding upcoming events and news on InsideASH and in the weekly newsletter, The FLASH, which acts as a reminder for key dates. The ASH Bulletin will be focusing on what has already happened, to celebrate a selection of key events from the previous quarter.
Please help us to help you by following the brief guide to submissions that we have prepared.
International Day is that special day of the year where we celebrate our cultural diversity. It is a whole school event, with many activities.
Students, staff and parents wear typical dress of their country, and share their culture, music, dance and food. International Day is a day to appreciate every nationality at ASH. What happens in each school?
We start the day with an Opening Ceremony with song, dance and other performances by our students (and parents) followed by a Country Parade. Students in all divisions participate, and parents are warmly invited.
In Elementary School we create a “Small World”. Classrooms become countries and students travel with their passport from country to country exploring each culture. During lunch time, students can choose from a wide selection of delicious food from the International Buffet in the Atrium, which is provided by parents.
In High School and Middle School, students set up booths representing their countries. Other students have the opportunity to visit these booths, learn more about the countries, and sample a variety of snacks from all over the world. At lunchtime in the theater, High School students perform for their fellow students. How can I be involved?
To make this day a success, we need your participation and help. If you would like to share your talents, enthusiasm, represent your country and play an active role in this wonderful day, join us to make this day a success. Use the form below to sign up for one of the listed functions. For any questions or inquiries please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Send your submission by email to email@example.com
Send as a Word document.
- Heading/title - maximum of 25 characters.
- Sub heading - you can place a longer title here if needed.
- Body text - remember to keep it short, focused and interesting. Your article will be read online only so try to write for the online reader (short, use bullets for listing, don’t use letter format).
Photos make a story, so if you have some, please send them. Please preselect the best ones yourself. Remember these are public, so should reflect the event in a positive way. Send the original photograph or image as a jpeg file as this will ensure a better quality image. Do not crop the photo/image yourself. Please send your photographs/images as an attachment to your email and do not include them in your Word document. We are restricted with the location of the images so if you refer to a specific image, do provide us with a caption.
Please remember, when you send us a PDF, we cannot access the information to pull out content or make corrections. A PDF is useful if you have a long article, more than two paragraphs. You can send us a Word document with an abbreviated version along with a pdf for those people who would like to read more.
Student Names/Email Address:
In the interest of the safety and security of students, parents and staff, please do not use the surnames in your submission. First names only with the first letter of the surname and do not associate the name of a student with a photograph. If you are mentioning Staff, remember that this content is public. We recommend that you do not include your personal email address but refer readers to additional information on InsideASH.
